Yesterday, a New York-based organization announced that Netanyahu is "not welcome" to deliver his speech at the UN General Assembly.

The organization 'New Jewish Narrative' states that it is protesting because Netanyahu ignored warnings prior to October 7 and left Israel vulnerable to the Hamas attack.

That is true, but it is only half the story. It is not what led to the destruction of Gaza. His policy is characterized by two aspects: self-preservation and the exploitation of opportunities. How exactly does that work?

During his genocidal war in Gaza, I have noticed—especially on social media and in Western media—that most people keep talking about "October 7." None of them realize that this perception stems from an Israeli mindset: always blaming the victim. In doing so, they demonstrate that they know nothing about the subject other than the idea that Hamas started the war.

However, the root cause of the war—though I can hardly call it a war; it is more a case of brutal, total destruction—lies in a scandal that came to light in 2017.

At the time, Israeli media reported on bribes Netanyahu had allegedly paid to certain newspapers to burnish his image.

An investigation into these bribes was launched. In 2019, the investigation led to the discovery of two corruption cases. One of these is the 'Dolphin affair.' It concerned the construction and delivery of six German submarines, each capable of being armed with nuclear weapons. Israel has possessed nuclear weapons since 1967.

If an Israeli politician is suspected of paying or accepting bribes or engaging in corruption, they risk being barred from the Israeli political process and facing imprisonment. Both possibilities hang over their head.

In November 2023, I came across a selfie video of an American serving in the Israeli occupation forces. He said, "They let it all happen." I wondered what he meant by that. A month later, I got the answer via *The New York Times*:

Netanyahu had known for at least a year that Hamas was plotting something. The connection to the aforementioned scandals was quickly made. It then became clear to me that Netanyahu was using "October 7" to protect himself and his family—after all, his wife and son are also under suspicion.

Israeli (war) policy has a long history of misusing and exploiting situations of its own making. That is the case here.

It all began with David Ben-Gurion, who defended Israel's secret nuclear weapons program to US President John F. Kennedy by claiming the program was intended to prevent a second Holocaust.

I should also mention that I find the protest in New York against Netanyahu's visit selfish, because the focus was solely on the Israelis. They lost 1,149 people, whereas the Israeli occupation forces have killed 73,922 Palestinians to date.
